Unifi Khabar Baik!

Info dari pembaca omghackers.com dan penjual set-top box, Unifi dah mula hendak menyahut kempen Cut The Cord dengan menawarkan peranti Android TV Box.

Harga bulanan yang ditawarkan bersama peranti, nampaknya boleh menyebabkan hidung berdarah dan peminat dari Geng Streaming berkemungkinan akan berkata;

“Take my money!”.

Ehem, Maxis, tak nak fight back ke tu?

FOR unifi 30MBPS UNLIMITED DATA WITH unifi PLUS BOX.

Terima kasih unifi kerana bersama kami dalam menyahut seruan kempen Cut The Cord.

P/s: Dah macam Mi Box S pula spesifikasinya.

Selamat melanggan semua!

Transcript:

Your website isn’t set in stone, so you shouldn’t treat it like it is.

Technology and the internet change quickly, and often. You should update your website regularly to keep up with the times.

Having an up-to-date and optimized site creates a great user experience, and will likely encourage people to spend more time on your site’s pages.

One website multiplies into three websites

This contributes to your search engine optimization, or SEO, because Google values good user experience.

If people are spending a lot of time on your website, it’s also a signal to Google that you have something they want, so you’ll likely see a bump in your rankings.

One search result moving up in the rankings

Higher rankings equal more of that coveted web traffic.

But what EXACTLY should you do to update your website’s content?

I’ll tell you…after this intro!

Ok, now let’s get to updating content on your website.

Here are five tips on how to update content on your website.

  • Before you actually start making updates to your site, check your SEO.

You’ve probably spent a lot of time putting content together, and that time would be totally wasted if people couldn’t find your site in search engines.

There are many, many factors that determine where your site appears in the search engine results pages or SERPs.

To check your SEO, you’ll want to do an SEO audit of your site, which will tell you what factors you’re hitting and which ones could use some improvement.

You can use our free SEO checker to get a report of what your site is doing right and what your site is doing wrong for your SEO.

WebFX SEO checker page

Some SEO factors you should be looking for when updating your website content are:

  • Keywords: Are you using relevant keywords for your business throughout the headings and content of your pages, and in your pages’ title tags and meta descriptions?
  • Page speed: Is your site loading quickly on desktop and mobile devices?
  • Mobile-optimization: Does your site work smoothly on mobile devices?
  • Site security: Do you have an SSL certificate installed to protect user data?
  • Broken links: Do all the links on your site work, and are you redirecting old links to new ones?

Again, that list was far from exhaustive. If you want a thorough analysis of your site’s SEO, you should consider partnering with SEO experts

That leads us to number two

  • Look at what your competitors are doing with their websites before updating your own website.

I know, I know. It’s another thing to do before you even touch your website, but it’s important to do a thorough analysis of the competitive landscape before making any decisions.

This also ties in with your SEO audit.

Look at the top results for the keywords you want to target and see what the top pages are doing to get those coveted spots. Are they using their keywords in their headings? Do they have any multimedia elements?

Take a look at the content as a whole on their website. Is there anything your competitor is doing that you can do better? Can you make a video or write a lengthy piece about a topic that will outrank theirs?

Ok! Moving on to number three.

  • Add some multimedia elements to your site when you’re updating your website content.

This tip is two-fold.

Multimedia elements like photos, graphics, and videos look great on a website and can break up any text-heavy areas of your site to really engage viewers.

Pages with longer pieces of content also tend to do well in search engines, but a block of 1200 words or more can be hard to follow.

If you use multimedia elements in between text, you’re giving readers a visual break and encouraging them to stay on the page longer.

The longer people stay on your page, the more likely it is you’ll rank higher on Google.

When you’re adding multimedia elements, however, it’s best practice to compress any images and embed videos from a separate hosting platform.

Adding large files to your site can slow it down, which creates a less-than-optimal user experience and hurts your SEO.

Kraken is a great (and free) tool for compressing images, while video hosting platforms like YouTube or Wistia easily generate links so you can embed them in a snap.

A pop-up with an embed code for YouTube videos

All right, so you’ve got your multimedia ready to go, let’s talk about number four.

  • Test different changes on your website.

When you’re updating content on your website, you don’t have to make changes blindly.

You can test changes to your website to see which resonates more with your visitors.

Tools like Google Optimize and Optimizely allow you to experiment with different elements of your website.

Your changes can be small but still have an impact, like tweaking the copy ever so slightly on your homepage or adding a call to action next to a pricing table.

That takes us to number five

  • Refresh old content and design on your website.

If you have a lot of content on your website, it’s definitely worth taking some time to revisit the old and make it look brand new.

Say you’re an accountant and you wrote a popular blog post a few years ago about how to fill out a certain tax form. A few years later, some parts of that tax form change.

Instead of creating an entirely new post, it would save you time to go back and tweak the parts of that old post that aren’t relevant anymore, and then you can re-share it on Facebook, Twitter, or wherever else you might get content to your audience.

Typing new information into informational page

The same goes for content using any statistics. After a year or two, the numbers might change, so it would definitely be helpful to make sure your website content is as accurate as possible.

You should also try to keep your website looking modern. Web design has changed dramatically over the last decade, so it’s important your website doesn’t look like it’s stuck in the early 2000s.

Examples of Target's website from 2007 to 2019

So you know what to change, but how often should you update content on your website?

Well, there’s not really a hard answer to that.

It all depends on your internal resources, your budget if you’re working with a team of web specialists, and industry and web updates.

The general consensus for overall site redesigns is every few years, but you should keep track of industry trends to make sure your site can compete with other sites out there. Refreshing your site’s content doesn’t have to be that extensive, either.

For content, some pieces might be relevant for years without you having to make any major changes. But it’s very likely you’ll have to refresh most of the content on your website more often than every few years.

Keep track of your pages and their rankings in a spreadsheet, and see which ones are falling in the SERPs, which are flatlining, and which are doing well.

Spreadsheet with information about page rankings

It might be helpful to set a weekly or monthly schedule to check in on your rankings and make updates to your content’s SEO as needed.

But ok, all of this is easier said than done. Updating your website on a regular basis requires a time commitment, so if you’re already worried you won’t be able to keep up, contact some web professionals

Onyx Neo adalah ‘carbon copy’ kepada Spunky Beat, melainkan;

Are you looking for a content management system (CMS) that will help you create the digital content you need? With so many options on the market, it’s challenging to know which one is the best CMS software for your business.

On this page, we’ll take a look at the six best CMS’s for website development for your business and share the pros and cons of each. If you’d like to learn more about content management systems and marketing your content, subscribe to our newsletter, Revenue Weekly!

1. WordPress

WordPress is the most popular CMS software on the Internet. This platform dominates the CMS market share, holding over 58% of the market. So, is WordPress the best CMS for small businesses?

Let’s take a look at a few pros and cons of this software.

Pros

WordPress has a lot of great features to offer, including:

  • Highly customizable: WordPress gives you all the tools you need to create a customized site. With thousands of themes and plugins, you can build the best CMS for your small business. You choose the right elements for your CMS to help you create a management system tailored to your business.
  • Versatile: Whether you own a restaurant or run a construction company, WordPress works with all industries. You don’t have to have an ecommerce company to set up a CMS with WordPress. It’s easy to use, no matter your industry or what you’re selling.
  • Regular updates: WordPress continuously improves its software, making it one of the best CMS options. From security updates to plugin improvements, you’ll always have a version of WordPress that works best.
  • Helpful community: If you have issues with setting up your CMS, WordPress has an active and large support forum. You can turn to that community if you have questions or concerns about building, maintaining, or customizing your system.
  • Search engine optimization (SEO) friendliness: SEO-friendliness is a crucial part of content creation. If you want your content to appear in search results, you must optimize it with SEO. WordPress helps you quickly adapt your content for search results, like by reporting your keyword density to ensure you’re using keywords enough (or not too much).

WordPress offers numerous benefits, making it an excellent tool for people new to CMS software.

Cons

Even though WordPress has several positive features, there are some pitfalls, including:

  • Plugins get complicated and pricey: While the ability to choose your plugins makes your site customizable, it comes at a price. You must add numerous plugins to your site to make it operational the way you want, and some of these plugins cost extra money. Not only does it add additional costs, but the process proves difficult when you’re trying to mix and match plugins while getting them to work with your site.
  • Target for hackers: Since WordPress is well-known and accessible, it’s a target for hackers. Plugins with security gaps or unsecure sites can leave your site vulnerable and prey to hackers. You’ll have to follow best practices to protect your WordPress site, which requires more work from your team.

2. Drupal

Drupal is an open-source CMS for developers, marketers, and agencies. This CMS software works with different industries like travel, healthcare, and higher education. Let’s take a look at the pros and cons of using Drupal as your CMS software.

Pros

If you use Drupal as your CMS software system, you’ll experience a few great features:

  • Offers control over your site: Drupal gives you control over your website. From managing custom posts to controlling permissions, you’ll have the control you need to make your site work for you and your team.
  • Provides multilingual capabilities: If you serve more than one language market, Drupal is the best CMS for your small business. This CMS software handles sites that use multiple languages with ease.
  • Offers numerous extensions: Drupal boasts over 36,000 extensions for your site. These extensions create an excellent opportunity for customization and designing the website you want.
  • Operates as open-source: Drupal is open-source software. Anyone can use it or download it. This set up makes it an excellent option for people who want an open and free CMS software.
  • Provides a great community: Like WordPress, Drupal has an active community to rely on for help. With people always contributing to this open-source platform, you have a community of people you can always reach with questions or concerns.

Cons

Even the best CMS for small business will have negative aspects.

Here are two disadvantages of using Drupal for your business:

  • Steep learning curve: The biggest issue with Drupal is that you need web development experience to use it. This software isn’t intended for beginners, which creates a steep learning curve. If you don’t have a web development background, this tool isn’t for you.
  • Complex configuration: Drupal has a weak backend that makes it difficult for users to maintain the coding on their site whenever Drupal sends an update. So, every time you have to update your website, you have to re-do the coding on your page.

3. Shopify

Shopify is a popular CMS software for ecommerce businesses.

This platform enables you to set up your store and manage it in one place.

Let’s look at a few reasons why Shopify might be the best CMS for website development.

Pros

When you use Shopify, you’ll experience a few great features:

  • Payment processing system: Shopify supplies you with a built-in payment processing system. While you can integrate any third-party apps as your payment system, Shopify’s integrated system doesn’t have additional transaction fees.
  • Inventory tracking: Shopify makes it easy for you to keep track of your product inventory. You can track whichever products you’re selling, as well as restock and alter your listings as necessary.
  • Extended functionality: With Shopify, you have access to thousands of third-party apps to extend the functionality of your online store. This feature helps you create a better customer experience by building a better ecommerce site.
  • Search-friendly: Shopify makes your ecommerce site SEO-friendly. Your store will rank in search results on different search engines, like Google and Bing. Shopify helps optimize your website’s structure and product listings to appear in more search results.
  • Customizable templates: When you build your store on Shopify, you get fully customizable templates that you can use. It allows you to create a unique site that fits your needs.

Cons

Shopify has a few pitfalls that you’ll notice when you use this CMS software:

  • Only sell from certain countries: Shopify enables you to sell to and from specific countries. If you need to sell outside those countries, you must use a third-party payment system. Adding a third-party payment system comes at an extra cost to your business.
  • Scaling product images: When you add pictures of your products to your site, there is no way to scale them to the right size automatically. If you don’t pre-crop the images yourself, you’ll have pictures of varying sizes all over your site. You will need to dedicate time to fixing your photos before uploading them to Shopify.

4. WooCommerce

WooCommerce is the ecommerce plugin for WordPress.

It operates similar to WordPress but adds in ecommerce functionality to make your site shoppable.

Let’s take a look at a few reasons why WooCommerce may be the best CMS for small business.

Pros

WooCommerce offers numerous benefits to your company, including:

  • Control over your site: Just like WordPress, you have complete control over the way you build your website. You choose the design, plugins, and widgets you want to use. It makes it easy for you to create the website you want.
  • Sell anything you want: WooCommerce gives you the flexibility to sell whatever you want. Whether it’s physical products or digital downloads, you can sell almost anything. Plus, it’s easy for you to upload and sell any product.
  • Operates as open-source: Open-source CMS software means that you can modify and customize as you need. You can take as many orders as you can handle, as well as list as many products as you want.
  • Contains built-in blogging: Publish content and build your store all in one place. WooCommerce is the best CMS for small businesses that want to keep everything together. It makes it easy for you to manage your online presence.
  • Built-in payment system: WooCommerce makes it easy for you to sell products. It takes payments via PayPal and Stripe. Additionally, users can pay with credit cards, direct bank transfer, check, or cash on delivery.

Cons

Though it may seem like WooCommerce is the best CMS, there are a few drawbacks:

  • Learning curve: WooCommerce can be challenging to learn. If you haven’t used WordPress before, you’ll be at even more of a disadvantage. It’s always great to invest in CMS software that gives you the ability to customize how you want, but that will always come with its own set of challenges.
  • Requires work to maintain: If you use WooCommerce as your CMS software, it will take work to maintain. You have to take on web hosting, implementation of extensions, and site security. Again, full customization is excellent and can make WooCommerce the best CMS software, but it does require extra work.

5. Magento

Magento is an ecommerce platform that lets people build their store online. They service all types of companies, from small businesses to enterprise-level companies. So, is Magento the best CMS software for your business? Let’s find out!

Pros

Magento offers many positive features for your business, including:

  • Operates as open-source: Open-source makes Magento one of the best CMS software options. When you have an open-source CMS system, you can customize templates and functionality on your site. It gives you control over your content and how you want it to look.
  • Offers features other ecommerce platforms lack: Magento lets you manage multiple stores, currencies, pricing, and more. Additionally, you can set prices on your products for specific groups, like staff members and VIPs. This level of customization doesn’t appear in other ecommerce platforms, which makes Magento stand out.
  • Gives you mobile-friendly content: Mobile-friendliness is a core component of a successful site. Magento ensures that your website is mobile-friendly, so your audience has the best viewing experience on your site.
  • Scalable: As your business expands with more products and more content, Magento scales your site. You can continue to grow your website as your business grows. This top CMS software can easily handle an increase in visitors and orders.
  • Contains vast community: If you have an issue with your site, you can get help fast. With so many people using the platform, you can turn to the community for questions. You have numerous resources to help you with any issues.

Cons

Just like any CMS software, Magento has some drawbacks, including:

  • Paid version is costly: While access to the community version is free, the paid option comes at a steep cost. If you need more than what the free version offers, you’re going to shell out money to get what you need. It’s a one-time fee, but it can cost tens of thousands of dollars.
  • Complicated to use: Customization isn’t as easy on Magento as other CMS platforms. If you want to post products or content, it’s going to be time-consuming to set up your site and get it how you want it because the CMS software is intricate and difficult to understand. Customization is a bonus, but it’s not easy to manage on Magento.

6. BigCommerce

BigCommerce is one of the best CMS software options for ecommerce businesses. This platform gives you complete control over selling physical and digital products, as well as your shipping rates.

Let’s look at a few perks of this CMS.

Pros

When you use BigCommerce, you’ll find it has several great features:

  • Native blogging: BigCommerce enables you to write about your business straight from your website. This platform allows you to find relevant customers and increase brand awareness through content about your products. You can easily publish posts to drive more traffic to your ecommerce store.
  • Built-in SEO: If you want people to find your content, you must optimize for search engines. BigCommerce is the best CMS software because it contains built-in SEO that enables you to optimize your site to appear in more relevant search results.
  • Email integration: If you want to send promotions and content about your products, BigCommerce makes it easy. With email integration, you can send relevant emails about your products to interested leads and get them to consider buying.
  • Shipping support: With built-in shipping support, you keep customers happy and keep them coming back to your business and content. BigCommerce makes it easy to calculate shipping rates, print labels, and more.
  • Sell where you want: BigCommerce is the best CMS for businesses that want to sell from more than just their website. With this CMS software, you can sell on eBay, Amazon, and more. The Square integration feature syncs inventory automatically, so you never oversell.

Cons

Like any other CMS software, there are drawbacks to BigCommerce.

  • Limit on annual sales: The biggest drawback to BigCommerce is the limits on annual sales. If you exceed your allotted amount of sales, you have to pay an additional fee and upgrade your plan to a more expensive monthly option.
  • Limited template choices: When you build your site, you don’t have many options for free templates. You have access to less than 10 free templates. If you don’t like any of those templates, you’ll have to shell out some money for a premium theme, which means more expenses for your business.

Muat turun apk: Typhoon TV.

Mari kita lihat.

Secara asasnya, rupa aplikasi UnlockMyTTV ini saling tak tumpah seperti Terrarium TV, cuma diberikan sedikit ‘nafas baru’. Bagaimana pula rupanya ketika memainkan video?

1. HP

HP offers many category pages that provide users with a positive experience.

Let’s look at their desktop computer category page.

On this page, the user immediately sees a collage of desktop computers and accessories HP offers. When a user looks at this page, they can see high-quality photos of the desktop computers HP offers.

From gaming computers to all-in-one computers, users can choose different categories to explore different options.

If you scroll down the page, you’ll see a bar with icons for the different computer categories.

When users click on these different categories, they’ll see options for different desktop computers. If they see something they like, they can click the “Shop Now” button and explore that product.

Why this category page design works

The design is simple and visually appealing.

Users can easily find their options in one place in a visually appealing format.

Having the option to choose each category and see some products in that category also makes for an A+ shopping experience. This feature streamlines the buying process and guides users to their next click.

Overall, HP provides a great user experience for people just starting to browse computers.

How you can use this category page design for inspiration

When you’re doing category page design, you must think about your audience and how they’ll browse your products. Like HP, you’ll want to use high-quality photos to catch your audience’s attention and get them interested in your products.

Make it easy for people to browse products in a category too. Creating sub-categories within your category pages makes it easy for your audience to focus on what matters most to them.

2. Costco

Costco makes it simple and easy for you to browse products within a specific category.

You can easily see the different types of products they offer within each group.

Users can look at each category to figure out where they want to shop first. It makes it simple and easy for users to find the products they need in the right category. People also have the option to browse products based on same-day delivery or two-day delivery options.

Why this category page design works

This layout works well for people looking to browse products in different categories. It helps users find the category they need and get straight to the products they want.

How you can use this category page design for inspiration

Creating categories with photos is a great way to guide people to the right product listing pages. By creating a “Shop by category” section, you make it easy for your audience to get straight to what they need.

3. Staples

Staples takes a visual approach to their category page design.

Let’s take a look at their office supplies category page.

When you look at their product category design for office supplies, you immediately see a visual.

This visual element features numerous office supplies that Staples offers. As you scroll down the page, you see categories for different types of office supplies, like writing supplies, desk accessories, and folders.

Within each of these categories, you’ll see different types of products.

For instance, the writing supplies category features pens, pencils, and markers.

If you scroll down the page more, you can see categories for brand names.

This setup makes it easy for people to browse by brand name if they want a specific brand.

Why this category page design works

This category page works because it’s easy to find the information you need. People can find the right category and look at the products underneath it. It makes for a positive user experience that enables people to find products quickly.

How you can use this category page design for inspiration

Creating organized category pages will help your audience navigate your site better. You can break up your category pages into boxes, like Staples, to keep information separated and make it easy for your audience to browse your products.

4. Kohls

Kohl’s category page design allows users to browse the way they want to browse.

We’ll use their bedding and bath page as an example.

On this page, users see a bedroom filled with different bedding items. It has a slogan, “Create your comfort zone,” on the photo. This visual immediately draws users in and gets them to browse the page.

As you scroll down the page, you see categories for different bedding options.

From comforters to pillows, users can click on the product based on their interests. If you keep scrolling down the page, you can select bedding based on the size of your bed, making it easy to get to relevant products.

Why this category page design works

This product category design works because it allows users to get directly to the products they need. It helps them browse by product type or size. The page contains excellent visuals, so people know what they’re looking at, without reading the category name.

How you can use this category page design for inspiration

One of the best features of this category page design is the ability for users to browse sheets based on size. When you’re creating category pages, consider how you can build a better browsing experience based on this design example.

Think about how users shop for products and create a way to make it easier and faster.

5. Lowes

If you’re looking for simple, yet practical, category page design examples, Lowes’ category pages fit the bill.

Their category pages are organized, clean, and cohesive.

Lowes’ category pages for bathroom vanities and vanity tops are great examples. The beginning of the page lures people in by showing one of their vanities in a bathroom setting. As you scroll down the page, you see different countertop and vanity options available.

As you move down the page, you can shop for vanities by color or size. This setup creates a great shopping experience. It allows people to start browsing based on what they need, whether they’re looking for a specific vanity size or color.

Why this category page design works

This category page design example works because it fits with Lowes’ brand and keeps the brand image consistent. All the photos are the same style, creating a cohesive product category design. Additionally, Lowes created different ways to shop (color, size, look), that make it easy for users to find the right product.

How you can use this category page design for inspiration

Similar to Kohls, it’s great to offer multiple ways for your audience to shop so they can find the right product.

When you set up your category page design, think of the different ways people will look for your products.

Create different categories, like “by color,” “by style,” or “by brand,” to help organize your page and build a better browsing experience.

6. Apple

Apple is a pioneer of great design. From their phones to their commercials, every aspect of Apple is sleek, modern, and eye-catching.

Their category page design is no different.

One of the best category page design examples is their iPhone page. Right at the top of the page, you see icons that allow you to view phone options, as well as accessories that go with their iPhones.

This design makes it easy for users to see their options for the right product on this product listing page. As you scroll down the page, you see bold, high-quality photos of the iPhone. These visuals get people to stay on the page and browse more.

If you scroll further down the page, you’ll get to a section called “Which iPhone is right for you?”

This feature makes Apple’s design one of the best product listing pages because it allows users to see and compare the different types of phones before deciding which one is the best option for them.

Overall, Apple’s category page design is clean, attention-grabbing, and focused on the user.

Why this category page design works

Apple’s product category design ticks all the boxes. It reflects their brand style, provides stunning visuals, and makes it easy for users to weigh their options. It’s a visually dense product page, which keeps people engaged and gets them to learn more about the iPhone.

How you can use this category page design for inspiration

You can learn a lot from Apple’s approach to their category page design. From using high-quality images to creating product comparison features, there are many opportunities for you. Use this example to create product category pages that offer a better user experience.

Take these category page design examples to inspire your own

What is website hosting?

This is to make a point, I promise.

When you go to a party, there’s always a host. The host is usually the one who sets the location so everyone can come and enjoy the party.

When you’re thinking of website hosting, think of your site’s host like the host of the party.

Your web host, just like a party host, offers you a place to put your website so it can be enjoyed by everyone on the internet.

If you haven’t guessed, in this video, I’m going to tell you all about the basics of website hosting services, go over a few different types of web hosting, and explain why choosing the right provider matters for your business.

Keep watching to learn more!

Thanks for tuning into this video. If you aren’t subscribed to our YouTube channel already, make sure you hit that big red subscribe button so you don’t miss out on any content.

What is website hosting?

As I said before, website hosting allows your site to be on the internet. You can have the best-looking website out there, but without a host, all you have is a bunch of files with nowhere to go.

When you pay a hosting provider to host your site, you’re paying for space on a server.

The amount of space and the cost can vary depending on what you choose.

There are a lot—and I mean A LOT—of hosting providers out there. What you choose really depends on what you need for your business.

What I mean by this is different providers have different options you can choose from to host your website.

If you’re a larger e-commerce site selling football jerseys internationally, you’re going to need much more space and control over your website than a smaller site that makes custom sports attire for local teams.

Small and large sports sites

So choosing the right type of web hosting for your business is really important to your web presence.

What are the different types of web hosting?

I’m going to talk about four different types of website hosting.

The first option is a website builder.

You’ve probably heard of these. Website builders like Wix, Squarespace, or WordPress are popular options among small businesses and bloggers.

With a website builder, you can also directly edit your site without any specific code, so it’s a great tool for a beginner.

The second type of website hosting is shared hosting.

Shared hosting means you share a server with other websites. So if you don’t get a ton of web traffic, this option might work for you.

The downside is if one website crashes the server, you’re stuck dealing with that. Even if you didn’t break it.

If other sites on the same server get a lot of traffic, or even if your site gets a lot of traffic, it’ll also slow down your site.

There are other options if you don’t think this is what your business needs.

Okay, option three: a virtual private server.

Just like a shared host, you share a virtual private server, or VPS, with other websites.

However, the server is separated into different virtual servers for each site. So although you share the same physical location with other sites, each has its own little compartment.

Think of it like a dresser for your clothing. You have the dresser that contains the different drawers, and inside each drawer are your shirts, socks, pants, and whatever else you have in there.

A VPS is like a dresser with drawers for clothing

Each type of clothing, a.k.a. each website, is separated in a different compartment, but everything is contained in the same storage unit.

A VPS allocates a set amount of space for each site, so if one site on the server is getting a lot of traffic, it won’t negatively affect how your site runs.

Kind of like if you have a lot of shirts, and your shirt drawer gets stuck, you can still access your socks.

And now to option four, the most expensive option. A dedicated server.

A dedicated server is all yours.

You’re not sharing any space with other sites. The server is entirely dedicated to you.

Plus, you have total access to the server

If your website gets over 100,000 visitors a month, you might want to look into a dedicated server.

But if you run a small business on a budget and your website gets less than 100,000 visitors in a month, this probably isn’t the right server type for you.

Choosing the right type of web hosting for your business can be a tough choice, but it can also help to look into the services each web host offers.

Why is choosing the right web hosting provider so important?

Making the wrong choice for your business’s website can harm your business in the long-run.

Going with the cheapest option may work for your wallet right now, but it can lead to a slower site and, ultimately, fewer visitors.

And there are high expectations when it comes to site speed. In fact, a lot of people will leave your site if it takes over three seconds to load

People leave a slow website

This ties back to your site’s search engine optimization. This is where I tell you to check out our SEO playlist on YouTube.

Search engine results

If you see that people are bouncing from your site, it’s a signal that you’re giving them a bad user experience, or you don’t have what they’re looking for.

Even if you have all the answers on your site, it won’t matter if it doesn’t load.

This will definitely hurt your position in the search engine rankings. The further from the top of the search results you are, the less traffic you’ll get.

So do your research and know your business needs before paying for web hosting services.

Did you know that breaking the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) can result in a six-figure fine?

For every violation, companies can receive a $150,000 fine — and if you have a WordPress site, you could be liable. While WordPress aims to ensure website accessibility, it cannot guarantee it since every site owner customizes the content and structure of their website.

As you’re in the driver’s seat of your WordPress site, that makes you liable.

If you’re now wondering, “Is my WordPress site ADA compliant?” this post is here to help.

Keep reading to discover four tools and plugins you can use to test your website’s accessibility. Plus, learn what to watch for when using WordPress ADA compliance plugins, as well as how to make your WordPress site ADA compliant.

If you’d like professional help with WordPress accessibility, check out our ADA compliance services!

1.     WAVE

WAVE, WordPress ADA compliance plugin

Price: Free

While not a WordPress ADA compliance plugin, WAVE is a trusted (and WordPress recommended) tool for testing website accessibility. It’s an excellent alternative to using a plugin as you skip the entire download and install process.

If you want to use WAVE, follow these steps:

  • Enter your website’s URL (or the page URL you want to test)
  • Click the arrow
  • View your results

The only drawback with WAVE is that you can’t download the results report.

WAVE report for WordPress accessibility

Instead, you’ll have to use WAVE to get an estimate of your site’s accessibility.

In most cases, WAVE’s results will apply to your whole website.

If one page isn’t fully accessible, for example, it’s likely your whole site features accessibility issues since WordPress websites run on themes. Page-specific elements, like missing image alt text, are the exception.

Go ahead and test your WordPress site’s accessibility with WAVE.

2.     Accessibility Suite

Accessibility Suite, WordPress ADA compliance plugin

Price: Free

Accessibility Suite is a WordPress ADA compliance plugin that also checks for Section 508. For reference, Section 508 is a federal accessibility law that applies to federal agencies and departments versus private-sector organizations.

Preview of WordPress ADA compliance plugin, Accessibility Suite

When you add Accessibility Suite to your WordPress site, you can check off several tasks, including:

  • Create an automatic scan schedule for site accessibility
  • Get easy-to-share reports that summarize the plugin’s findings
  • Store past accessibility scans to monitor progress and changes
  • View errors using different filters, including by page or object
  • Receive actionable steps for fixing accessibility issues
  • And more

If you’re looking for a fast solution to assessing your site’s ADA compliance, Accessibility Suite is it.

3.     WP Accessibility Helper

WP Accessibility Helper, WordPress ADA compliance plugin

Price: Free, with paid options available

WP Accessibility Helper is another plugin for WordPress ADA compliance.

With WP Accessibility Helper, your business can assess and improve your website’s accessibility and ADA compliance. The plugin provides your team with several tools. You can use these tools to modify font sizes, change contrast ratios, and more.

Features of WordPress ADA compliance plugin, WP Accessibility Helper

It’s critical to mention that WP Accessibility Helper does not guarantee compliance. According to the plugin’s developers, if you want to ensure WordPress accessibility, you should consult with a compliance expert.

If you try and like WP Accessibility Helper, a one-time paid version is available — prices range from $50 to $450. The paid version offers some additional features, including unlimited contrast variations, accessible accordion builders, and pop-ups.

4.     WP ADA Compliance Check Basic

3 questions to ask before adding a WordPress ADA compliance plugin to your site

Plugins make updating, managing, and improving your WordPress site easy — most of the time, at least. A plugin can also cause issues, though, which can make your website inaccessible and unusable. That’s why, before adding a WordPress ADA compliance plugin to your site, you want to ask these questions:

1.      Is this plugin up to date?

First, you want to make sure any plugin you install will work with your current version of WordPress.

Installing an out-of-date plugin will almost always cause issues. Your plugin, for example, may fail to work. Or, your site may become inaccessible and vulnerable to security issues. Either way, you have a problem that needs fixing fast.

Before downloading your WordPress ADA compliance plugin, check the right-hand column.

How to check WordPress plugin version

Here you should see the following plugin information:

  • Version
  • Last updated
  • Active Installations
  • WordPress Version
  • Tested up to

Look at the WordPress Version and compare it to yours.

How to check WordPress version

You can check your WordPress version by logging into your account and looking at the bottom right-hand corner. Here, you should see the following text, “Thank you for creating with WordPress. Version X.X.X.”

If the plugin’s WordPress Version matches yours, you can install it.

2.      Does this plugin have any known bugs or issues?

When you install a plugin, you do it because you want to make your life easier, not harder.

That’s why, before installing a WordPress ADA compliance plugin, you should check for any issues. Look for problems by viewing the “Support” and “Reviews” tab. Here, you can see what other users say, as well as learn about any bugs.

How to check for WordPress plugin bugs

If you see that the plugin has issues, avoid installing it on your website.

Should the plugin have a history of problems or delayed fixes from the developer, you may want to rethink installing it on your site too. You don’t want to come into work one day and have a host of website problems because of a faulty plugin update.

3.      Is a developer able to help if the plugin causes errors?

Finally, before adding a WordPress plugin, think about your ability to solve a plugin issue.

If you don’t have an in-house developer or dedicated third-party partner, you may want to skip installing a WordPress plugin. That’s because, while uncommon, plugins can cause severe site issues that require the help of a developer.

For example, in some cases, plugin bugs have locked site owners out of WordPress. Resolving this problem often forces site owners to log in and fix their site via cPanel or File Transfer Protocol (FTP) programs like FileZilla.

If you aren’t comfortable using those programs, make sure you have help lined up before installing a plugin.

The above questions aren’t meant to turn you away from plugins.

Plugins can help with a lot of different tasks, including securing your WordPress site, monitoring your search engine optimization (SEO), and more. Asking the above questions, however, can save you from headaches and ensure you only install reliable WordPress plugins.

How to achieve WordPress ADA compliance without plugins

“If you don’t have the time to follow-through on your plugins’ recommendations, hire a web design agency that specializes in ADA compliance.”

All the above tools and plugins can help you achieve WordPress ADA compliance.

Becoming ADA compliant with these tools, however, requires your team to take action. While some plugins, like WP ADA Compliance Check Basic, will make some automatic changes, no plugin will fix your entire website for you.

What are your options if you don’t have the time to follow-through on your plugins’ recommendations?

Hire someone — specifically, hire a web design agency that specializes in ADA compliance. They can analyze your WordPress site’s accessibility for you, as well as implement the necessary changes. You don’t have to install any plugins, compile any action plans, or beg any developers to make updates.

It’s a fast and simple solution for making your WordPress site compliant and safe from fines.

1. Focus on the user experience

If you want to be successful with website lead generation design, you must focus on building design for your audience. While the site belongs to and advertises your business, it’s crucial that you make it for your audience. After all, they are the ones browsing your site.

You must put the user’s experience first. To successfully drive leads for your company, focus on creating a website that helps your audience find information quickly and easily.

So, how do you create a user-friendly website?

  • Get your pages loading fast: Users want information quickly, so slow-loading pages are a no-go. You must analyze your website, with tools like Google PageSpeed Insights to gain insight into how you can improve your site’s load time. If you aren’t sure how to improve your page speed on your own, invest in page speed services from a digital marketing company like WebFX.

  • Utilize white space: Many companies feel like they need to cover every area of their website with text, photos, or multimedia. In reality, having white space on your site is an excellent way to break up a busy page and make it easier to look at and browse. Utilize white space in your design to create a cleaner design that makes it easy for your audience to browse through your site.
  • Create simple navigation: A simple and organized navigation will go a long way in enhancing the user experience. When users can easily find what they’re looking for, they’re more likely to remain on your site and become leads. Utilize broad headings and subcategories under each heading to organize your pages and make it easy for your audience to find.

These are just a few elements that will help you create a more user-friendly design for your website. A great lead generation website will focus on adding features that make the user experience better for your audience, keeping them on your site longer to turn into leads for your business.

2. Choose the right design for your website

One of the most essential best practices for lead generation website design is the aesthetics of your site. Your design choices play an important role because 94% of first impressions relate to web design. If you don’t have a killer design that catches your audience’s attention and keeps them on your page, they might turn to competitors instead.

It’s important to remember that users will judge your business based on how it looks, so design it with your target audience in mind.

Follow these lead generation website design best practices to be successful with user-focused web design:

  • Establish a style guide: A web design style guide will help you create pages that are consistent across the board. When your site looks cohesive, leads are more likely to trust your brand. Creating brand guidelines guide will help you establish elements like your website colors, font style, image style, and more.
  • Make your design reflective of your business: It’s critical that you create a design reflective of your business to helps leads remember your brand. From your color choices to your design style, your aesthetics should be as unique as your business. For example, if you’re a luxury brand that sells plain-colored watches, a black and white color scheme will fit your brand better than a rainbow of colors.
  • Opt for a custom design: If you want your brand to be memorable to your audience, opt for a custom design. A custom design will help you stand out from your competitors and provide your audience with a unique and memorable experience.

If you want to generate more leads for your business, focus on building a quality, custom design for your business. It will help you stand out from your competitors and make your brand more memorable for your audience.

3. Add testimonials to boost credibility

Did you know that 92% of users trust recommendations from others over a brand? If you want to turn visitors into leads for your business, you need to get them to trust your brand. A great way to build trust is by sharing others’ experiences with your business.

There are a few ways you can build trust with your audience:

  • Add testimonials to your website: Testimonials are an excellent way for you to showcase how people enjoy your brand. You’ll want to integrate these into your site as part of your web design to help give people insight into how previous customers feel about using your services or buying your products.

  • Integrate Google reviews into your website: Another great way to showcase others’ experience with your brand is to integrate Google reviews on your site. Google reviews help users see an authentic experience with your company, which can help them decide if you’re a good fit for their needs.
  • Integrate reviews from other sites: There are dozens of different sites where people leave reviews. Sites like Yelp and Consumer Reports are both places where people leave authentic reviews of your business. You can integrate these types of reviews into your site to help site visitors get a fuller picture of what it’s like to work with you or buy your products.

When you add testimonials and reviews to your site, you build trust with your audience. You make them feel confident that, if they choose you, you’ll provide them with the best experience. It’s a great lead generation website design best practice that helps you earn more leads for your business.

Speaking of testimonials, did you know that WebFX has over 420? It’s true! Check them out!

4. Add call to action (CTA) buttons to get users to take the next step

Another essential element of successful website lead generation design is call to action (CTA) buttons. As users peruse your site and look at your products and services, it’s crucial that you provide a way for them to take the next step in the buying process. That’s where CTA buttons come in.

Integrating CTA buttons will help you guide interested users towards becoming leads. To create the most effective CTA buttons, follow these best practices:

  • Make them pop: If you want to create a successful web design for lead generation, you must make your CTA buttons pop off your page. Your audience should be able to find the button easily and proceed to the next step in the buying process with ease. Choose colors that stand out on your website, so the user’s attention is drawn to it.
  • Don’t use plain CTAs: To get site visitors to take the next step, you need a compelling CTA copy that entices them to click and take the next step. Don’t stick to generic CTAs like “Click here” or “download now.” Create something more informative and enticing, like “download your free guide now!”
  • Choose the right shape: Typically, companies will either choose a rounded rectangular button, rectangular button, or extended oval button. To figure out which button is right for your page, you can test the different shapes to see how your audience responds.

CTA buttons are critical for getting users to contact your business, sign up for emails, and download content. If you want to help users take the next step and become leads, create compelling and noticeable CTAs that guide your audience.

5. Add visuals to make your site engaging

If someone visits your website and sees walls of text, they might feel overwhelmed which will make them less likely to continue browsing your site. One of the most crucial lead generation website design best practices is adding visuals.

Visuals help break up text on your site and make it easy for your audience to digest information. When your audience has a better browsing experience on your website, they’re more likely to become leads.

Here are some tips for using visuals as part of your site’s design:

  • Use authentic photos: Many companies will try to use stock photos on their site as an easy way to add visuals. While stock photos are an easy way to add photos of real people to your site, it’s well worth the effort to snap some genuine pictures of your staff to use instead. Not only does it create a personal experience for site visitors, but it makes them feel closer to your brand.
  • Create videos to explain complex topics: Videos are a great addition to any website to boost engagement and get people interested in your business. Use videos as a tool to showcase your products, explain complicated concepts, and help your audience learn more about your business.
  • Use infographics to present data: If you have complex data sets or want to highlight facts about your products or services, infographics are a great visual option for showcasing that information. You can use infographics to visually present statistics, essential facts, and more. It’s an excellent way for you to catch your audience’s attention and help them pull valuable information from your site. Not to mention, they’re easily shareable on social media platforms!

Visuals help enhance the user experience on your site and keep your audience engage. If you want to be successful with web design for lead generation, you must add visuals. Visuals keep people on your site longer, which allows people to get to know your business and become leads.
